Field goals have killed the Minnesota Vikings this season.

The Vikings fell to 0-2 after Greg Joseph’s game-winning field goal from just 37 yards out was pushed wide right, giving the Arizona Cardinals the win, but regardless of the outcome of the kick, it was a brutal loss for public bettors.

WynnBET Sportsbook had 96.17 percent of the handle on Arizona in this game, and sportsbooks everywhere avoided a disaster as Minnesota was able to cover the spread, which closed at 3.5 points.

It’s a bitter loss for Vikings fans, but if you were a part of the 3.83 percent on the Vikings, you have a little more cash in your pocket after today’s loss. Kirk Cousins and company orchestrated a beautiful drive to put the team in position to tie the game, but Joseph’s kick never looked on line as it just snuck outside the right upright.

Over 95 percent of the bets at WynnBET were taken on the Cardinals, which is by far the most of any team this week. The next closest team is the Kansas City Chiefs (93.91 percent of the handle) who play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football

Minnesota is now 0-2 on the season after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1 of the season on a game-winning field goal in overtime.

Arizona is now 2-0 on the season, and the Cardinals offense looks like one of the best groups in the NFL after putting up another 34 points in Week 2.

The Vikings are now in the basement of the NFC North, but they will be joined by either the Green Bay Packers or Detroit Lions, as both teams are 0-1 and face off tomorrow on Monday Night Football.
