We’re nearly a month into the NBA season, and there have been plenty of surprise teams this year.

The Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors have come out of the gates fast this season, while teams that were expected to be contenders like the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics have struggled a bit out of the gate.

LeBron James has missed seven games for the Los Angeles Lakers, and their rival, the Los Angeles Clippers, are making the most of this season even though Kawhi Leonard is hurt. While some teams may have great records, that doesn’t mean they are a great team to bet on.

The BetSided team has been delivering picks based on the odds at WynnBET all season long, and we always reference a team’s against the spread record when factoring in our selection.

Let’s take a look at the best NBA teams against the spread so far this season.

Best NBA Teams Against the Spread in 2021-22 Season

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs have been arguably the biggest surprise of the 2021-22 season, getting out to a 9-6 start and a league-best 10-4-1 start against the spread.

Rookie Evan Mobley, who has been dominant this year, is expected to miss at least two weeks with an elbow injury.

While losing Mobley hurts Cleveland, it has still been a covering machine without Collin Sexton as well. Cleveland has been an underdog 13 times this season and is 9-4 against the spread in those games. Not half bad.

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls have been impressive with their new-look roster featuring Lonzo Ball, DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso. Chicago is 10-4 against the spread this season, going 5-2 on the road and 5-2 at home.

The Bulls are underdogs against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night, but they have gone 4-2 in that spot against the spread so far this season.

Miami Heat

The Heat are also 10-4 against the spread this season, and they’ve covered in three straight games even with star Jimmy Butler nursing an injury.

Miami has the third-best net rating in the NBA this season, and it is also undefeated against the spread as an underdog this season at 5-0.

Golden State Warriors

Steph Curry is playing at an MVP level and the Warriors are benefiting because of it. Golden State has the best record in the NBA at 12-2, and it absolutely dominated the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.

The Warriors have returned to their old selves this season, even though Klay Thompson is still out, and they have covered at a great rate at home this season, going 6-2-1 (75.0 percent).
