With the free agency period and new league year set to begin on March 12 at 4:00 p.m. ET, the final waves of rumors are starting to surface. The latest news out of Kansas City is that the Chiefs are hoping to re-sign defensive end Glenn Dorsey. It may have appeared that the Chiefs would let Dorsey walk in free agency, but with their recent flurry of aggressive moves to keep their own free agents, it should come as no surprise.

Financially, it may be a good move for Dorsey, but it will mean another few years in a scheme that isn’t designed to fully utilize his talent. Dorsey’s skillset is best suited as a three-technique in a 4-3 defense, but the Chiefs currently run a 3-4. In the end, it’s up to Dorsey to decide if he wants to re-sign and stay in the system.
