The New York Jets are looking for pass rushing help this offseason and reports indicate they have their eyes on Dallas Cowboys free agent outside linebacker Victor Butler. The former fourth-round pick has been buried on the Cowboys depth chart since joining the league in 2009, thanks to playing behind DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer.

Despite his lack of playing time, Butler has been able to record 11 sacks and four forced fumbles.

Butler would provide the Jets a young, talented linebacker who is hungry for his chance to make an impact. It also doesn’t hurt that Butler is familiar with Jets head coach Rex Ryan’s brother, Rob, who was the defensive coordinator in Dallas last season.

At just 26-years-old, Butler could be an under-the-radar signing in this year’s free agent class. With a fresh start, he should be able to shine.
