The Detroit Lions have been considered the favorites to land free agent running back Reggie Bush and evidence is now becoming more concrete that Bush will bolt from South Beach to the Motor City.

According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the Lions appear to be the “likely winners” in the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.

The Arizona Cardinals have a big need at running back and will make a serious play for Bush, but the Lions are expected to come out on top.

Detroit needs to add a dynamic runner in the backfield to pair with 2011 second-round pick Mikel Leshoure, but the team could have bigger plans for Bush than a third-down running back. Leshoure and Bush would compete in camp in an entertaining battle to become the team’s starter.
