A few days ago it was reported that the Houston Texans and longtime Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed had come to a three-year agreement and on Friday the move was made official. Reed joins the likes of Ray Lewis, Dannell Ellerbe, Paul Kruger and Bernard Pollard as members of the Super Bowl winning defense that have bolted Baltimore this offseason.

Reed’s deal with the Texans is reportedly a three-year deal worth $15 million, with $5 million guaranteed, per the Houston Chronicle.

The nine-time Pro Bowler provides an immediate replacement for Glover Quin who left the team for the Detroit Lions in free agency. Despite being a 34-year-old on the downside of his playing career, Reed has plenty left to give and could prove to be a game changer in the defensive backfield for the Texans.

With only a few more years left to play, Reed is looking for another run at a Super Bowl title and the Texans could give him his best shot.
