Tavon Austin is a guy who has the potential to change the face of the draft. He’s got numerous suitors willing to buy high to get a chance to draft him, but no team has been more active in trying to trade up or show their love for Austin than the St. Louis Rams. Reports surfaced as early as this weekend that the Rams were looking to trade up to take Austin, and according to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, the Rams are willing to trade up to the sixth overall pick to draft Austin.

From Rotoworld:

"The Browns hold the No. 6 overall pick and have been rumored to be willing to trade back. If the Rams really want Austin, they’ll likely have to jump in front of the Bills and Jets at Nos. 8 and 9 respectively. St. Louis is sitting at No. 16 and would probably have to trade away its second- and third-round picks to make the jump."

Moving up to sixth overall is a massive move for the Rams, and may be one that sees them sell some high picks to do so. But don’t look for them to trade both picks, as they’ve been looking to trade back from the 22nd overall post they’re at right now thanks to the RGIII trade from last season’s draft. The Rams are reportedly “smitten” with Austin and if they want him, they’ll need to move up to get him as he likely won’t make it out of the top ten.
