After taking a seemingly commanding 2-0 series lead, the Indiana Pacers have dropped two straight games on the road to the Atlanta Hawks and return to Indianapolis a reeling team. Paul George’s triple-double to open the series seems like a distant memory and those of us who had already written off the Hawks are looking foolish.

But this is the NBA Playoffs we’re talking about and strange things are supposed to happen. The Pacers finally thought they were on a roll but if the Hawks can stop them dead in their tracks, it calls into question how effective they’d be against the New York Knicks. It’s this kind of doubt that is settling in that should motivate the Pacers to come out balling on Wednesday night at take a 3-2 series lead heading into Game 6.

Atlanta can’t be slept in though, as they’ve proven as much in Game’s 3 and 4. They may not be a championship team, but they can still throw a nasty wrench into the Pacers season and take them out earlier than expected.
