Poor Tim Tebow. After the comedy that surrounded the former New York Jets punt protector’s release brought us offers from the CFL as a back up, from the Omaha Beef and a quarterback coaching gig in the Lingerie Football League, there is now a petition that surfaced on the White House’s official website calling for president Barack Obama to do his part about the unemployment rate and help the Jaguars sign Tebow.

Seriously.

“Call NFL Jacksonville Jaguars GM David Caldwell and tell him to stop ignoring the Jaguars fans and sign Tim Tebow! If the Jaguars sign & START Tebow,” the petition reads, “home games will be sold out, sales will spike, the team will win and the fans will be happy.”

While we cannot confirm that the fan who petitioned President Obama is the man pictured above, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if that is who it actually was.

It is nice to see Tebow’s cult following continuously backing him up (like he does to the other QB’s on the roster he is on), but at some point they will need to come to grip with reality. Tebow is not a NFL quarterback and it is highly unlikely that he will sign with the Jaguars.

Like most reasonable franchises, the Jaguars have publicly stated they have exactly zero interest in the Denver Broncos one-hit wonder, but that hasn’t stopped a group of fans from calling his name.

Thankfully, a large portion of the fan base and the team’s management are smart enough to steer clear of Tebowmania.
