In an announcement that will surprise only the blindest of NBA fans, the league has announced that Miami Heat big man Chris “Birdman” Anderson has been suspended for tomorrow night’s Game 6 match up against the Indiana Pacers. The suspension comes from an incident in Game 5 where Andersen delivered a blow to Pacers forward Tyler Hansbrough and pushing him in an attempt to instigate a fight.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports and NBC Sports Network:

It was shocking that Andersen was not immediately ejected for his actions, but the referees appeared to miss exactly what he did on the court.

Luckily, the NBA has got the decision right.

This could be a big loss for the Heat as they look to deal with the Pacers physicality in the paint. Without Andersen, they will have less energy coming off of the bench and they will have to find alternative ways to add production.
