The Miami Heat are a team that just doesn’t get blown out unless they’re having a really bad night. But the Miami Heat are a team that just doesn’t have a really bad night in the NBA Finals when their entire season rests on how well they play as a unit. However, those two things converged on the Heat as they were blown away by the San Antonio Spurs 113-77 in perhaps the worst loss the team has endured during the Big 3 era.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra wasn’t making any excuses after the game, and stated numerous times that the team got what they deserved after the way they played against the Spurs. After repeating the Heat got what they deserved three times, Spoelstra elaborated on the obvious.

“You know what I mean by that,” Spoelstra said, via ProBasketballTalk. “It’s pretty obvious. They played with more force and more focus. The teams that do that typically get what you deserve. They outplayed us, out-classed us from the very tip.”

The question everyone is wondering know is how will this effect the Heat moving forward in the series. LeBron James is not the kind of player that takes losing well and he takes 36-point blowout losses in the NBA Finals even worse. So will this motivate the Heat to come back with a vengeance in Game 4 or will LeBron continue to get no help and the 36-point loss will be the defining moment in the series in a negative way for Miami?

Spoelstra didn’t get into that, but it will no doubt be one of the more hotly debated questions between now and the time Game 4 tips off and is ultimately concluded.
