The Phoenix Suns are a team trying to get younger and better but that’s not stopping them from giving guard Shannon Brown yet another chance in 2013-14. Much to the displeasure of Suns fans, according to Suns beat writer Paul Coro, who writes for the Arizona Republic, Phoenix will not be waiving Brown before the deadline and will be guaranteeing his $3.5 million contract for this upcoming season.

Brown couldn’t have been more underwhelming in his performance with the Suns last season as he managed just around 11 minutes per game and was hardly a factor down the line in terms of shaking up the roster for Alvin Gentry.

Suns fans were hoping that he’d get waived so they wouldn’t have to deal with his poor performance but now they’re going to watch as their team pays Brown nearly $4 million next season. There’s a chance he improves next season given the criticism he’s received from fans, but the future doesn’t seem bright for Shannon Brown, but it does seem awfully rich thanks to the Phoenix Suns.
