The New York Giants finally find themselves in the police blotter after recently signed inside linebacker Dan Connor was arrested at an airport while going through security with a knife in his luggage. The incident happened Saturday morning and police were called to the airport to deal with the issue.

From Philadelphia TV station WPVI:

"NFL player and Delaware County native Dan Connor was arrested at Philadelphia International Airport. It happened around 9:00 Saturday morning.27-year-old Conner, originally from Wallingford, Pennsylvania, is a linebacker for the New York Giants. Authorities say he had a switchblade in his luggage while he was going through a terminal.TSA officers spotted the knife and called police."

Connor was charged with possession of an offensive weapon. There haven’t been any major off field issues in Connor’s past, so he should be able to avoid punishment from the league.

The former Penn State standout joined the Giants during free agency in March after spending the past five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers.
