With all of the talk about the recovery of New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski, a detail emerged recently that puts his status for the season-opener in some serious doubt. According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, Gronkowski has yet to resume running as he recovers from his flurry of back and arm surgeries this offseason.

If Gronkowski is to remain on schedule, that means he should begin to run by next week.

A report surfaced recently that he was feeling great after the surgeries, but it will be a while before anyone can truly judge whether or not he will be ready for the start of the season.

The Patriots tight end situation has been less than ideal this offseason, but if Gronkowski can return to full strength by the beginning of the season, all of their worries will be erased.
