The New York Giants fullback Henry Hynoski had surgery to left knee after an injury in OTA’s. That has forced the Giants to explore signing Vonta Leach and they’re now reaching out to former Dallas Cowboys fullback Lawrence Vickers.

If Hynoski has his way, it might not be necessary.

“I’m gonna do everything in my power to get back for the first game — that’s my goal, that’s my intention,” Hynoski said Tuesday, via ESPN NY. “But ultimately that decision is not up to me. I just want to get back to playing football at the earliest possible date. Everything’s going well in my rehab, making advances and strides every day, and I’m just excited with my progress and I know the trainers are happy where I’m at too.”

Not being able to participate in training camp is frustrating the full back.

“Now it’s getting more frustrating, and today’s gonna be tough because they’re doing what I love to do today, and that’s hit,” Hynoski said. “So today’s gonna be the hardest day to watch, and I’m sure it’s not gonna get easier as camp goes on, but I have an end goal in sight and that’s what’s keeping me going right now. When things like this happen, I just use it as extra motivation and I’m gonna come back stronger from this than I ever have.”
