There’s one main thing on A-Rod’s mind right now aside from the obvious Biogenesis scandal, and that’s getting out of the minors and back into major league games as soon as possible. But it is unclear how much time he may or may not have left, with a possible lifetime ban potentially coming by the end of the weekend. But a source close to the third baseman has said in an interview with ESPN,

"His attitude right now is all he wants to do is play and fight this to the end."

Earlier tonight, Rodriguez hit a two run home-run in his rehab game with the Trenton Thunder. However, none of his stats may matter in the coming days, as he will probably get a lengthy suspension from the MLB if it isn’t a lifetime ban. But if for some reason a ban is not placed in the next couple of days, we could see A-Rod come back to the Yankees by Sunday. The Yankees are currently in 4th place in the AL East, 8.5 games behind the division leading Red Sox. It’s obvious at this point that the boys from the Bronx could use some more offensive weapons, and A-Rod could actually be of help.

We won’t know if he will be able to make it out of the majors until after this weekend, but from what I can tell, the possibility of that happening looks pretty bleak. What do you think? Do you think there’s any chance A-Rod avoids a ban this weekend and manages to get back on the Yankees roster?
