The Washington Redskins have been handling quarterback Robert Griffin III’s rehab and come back carefully. They don’t want to risk any further injury to the star quarterback. Coach Mike Shanahan said earlier this week that RG3 has played well recently in camp.

“I feel good now, I felt good a couple weeks ago, but I definitely felt better today,” Griffin said. “… I’m in rhythm out there throwing the ball.”

“I’m ready to move on from 7-on-7s,” Griffin said, via NFL.com.

Despite that step in training camp, RG3 reaffirmed that he has no plans to play in the preseason and his comeback wouldn’t begin until Week 1’s match up with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Shanahan told the Washington Post last week that he was going to not rush RG3.

“The key for us is not to push him too quick,” Shanahan said. “You don’t know how he’s going to react to different drills. But right now there has been no swelling. He feels very good. And that’s one of the reasons why he hasn’t had a day off.”

“As you have a plan going into your first week, you’re hoping you can execute that game plan. We were able to do that. Next week we have another game plan for him and we’ll see if he’s able to go through that.”
