Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr was on his way to California to resume training camp after the team defeated the Miami Dolphins in the Hall of Fame game to kick off the 2013 preseason when he learned that his wife was in labor. Of course, Carr could not immediately get to his wife’s side, but thanks to technology he was able to catch every moment of his first born son being born.

Carr said that he pulled out his iPhone and used FaceTime to watch his son being born.

I saw everything I needed to see,” Carr said, via Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I saw it all. Technology is wonderful these days. Sometimes you can’t control what’s going to happen. You’ve just got to go with the flow. I made the most of it.”

Carr eventually made it home to see his first-born son after the Cowboys win and he couldn’t have been happier despite his lack of sleep.

“No sleep at all, but I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Carr said. “It was a good feeling to be there and actually see your first son. I’m still trying to gather my thoughts and bring it all in. The last two days have been good. It’s a blessed feeling.”

Now that Carr has seen his first-born son, he will be rejoining the team and leaving Austin to be in Oakland for their preseason game against the Raiders on Friday night.
