San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen finished his preseason debut with two catches for 13 yards, seeing time with both the first- and second-team units. The rookie out of the University of California will be taking on a big role in the Chargers offense after Danario Alexander went down with a season-ending ACL tear.

Allen admitted he took a moment to take it all in and appreciate his first NFL game:

"“To be honest it felt normal out there,” he said. “I was just out there playing football.  But right after the defense was announced we all ran out into the end zone and said a prayer.  I looked up at all the fans and my teammates and it hit me that I was in the NFL.”"

Rookie quarterback Brad Sorensen was also quite impressive, as he finished 7-of-10 for 84 yards and a touchdown.

San Diego’s next preseason game will come on Friday, August 15 against the Chicago Bears. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
