The Texas Rangers are a team on a mission during this seasons trade periods.

After a connection with the Texas Rangers and Alex Rios were confirmed a few days ago, they could possibly be connected with another Chicago White Sox, that man? The big left handed power house, Adam Dunn.

According to CBS Sports Jon Heyman, Adam Dunn has passed through waivers and can now be traded anywhere. Dunn is batting .227/.332/.465 with 26 home runs and 69 RBI’s this season but is still owed around $20 million through the end of next season.

Heyman has the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles listed as two teams who may be interested, although the Rangers would prefer a right handed bat, you can’t expect these guys just to pass up on a much improved Dunn.

Now when it comes to Alex Rios, Jim Bowden of ESPN.com reports that the chances of the Rangers making a trade for Rios are smaller than a bread basket.

The Rangers claimed Rios off waivers, but it appears the odds of them trading for Rios is a long shot. Well in this league, nothing is really a long shot, unless that player is the future of the teams franchise. Rios is batting .277/.328/.421 with 12 home runs and 26 stolen bases this season through 109.

I say Chicago should trade them both, dump the salary and let it be another teams problem. They are currently sitting in last place of the division. It’s not like they’re going to make a push for the playoffs.

I’m just saying, take what you can for players who are putting up big numbers for you.
