The Dallas Cowboys have struggled with injuries along their offensive line and  were handed another one. Offensive tackle Darrion Weems injured himself in a weight room mishap according to head coach Jason Garrett.

From ESPN Dallas:

"According to coach Jason Garrett, Weems had the 325-pound bench press bar slip out of his grasp and land on his chest. Weems did not practice Sunday and is not expected to practice Monday."

“He’s got this thumb issue where he can’t put his thumb around the bar, so it’s kind of an open hand and the thing just kind of rolled off on him. … We think he’s going to be back, but I’m sure it’s pretty painful.”

The Cowboys injuries have primarily been centered along the interior line. The Cowboys signed former New York Jets Brandon Moore, who then decided to retire a day later. The Cowboys have extended an offer to guard Brian Waters and are waiting on a decision from him.

Other injuries for the Cowboys include: Defensive tackle Sean Lissemore, linebacker Ernie Sims (groin) and safety Eric Frampton (hamstring).

“We’re hopeful on all of them (to play when the team returns home), but I’m not so sure it’s Cincinnati for all of them,” Garrett said. “It might be Houston. Some of them might practice towards the end of the week. We’ve just got to see how they respond to stuff.”

The Cowboys play the Arizona Cardinals in next week’s preseason game before hosting the Cincinnati Bengals on August 24th and the Houston Texans on August 29th.
