The Los Angeles Dodgers will take on the New York Mets tonight, but will have to play without their right fielder, Andre Either. He has gone to White Memorial Hospital for tightness in his left calf, and was taken off the line up for Tuesday’s game. Either has been dealing with the tightness since getting hit by a pitch in Chicago just ten days ago.  While the Dodgers may be losing one of their top outfielders, they aren’t losing a big hitter, who as of late has been struggling since his injury. In just eight games since dealing with his calf tightness, Andre Either has had just a .241 batting average.

According to an article on ESPN.com, Don Mattingly, manager of the Dodgers, said this about Either,

"We wanted the doctor to look at it because whatever it is, it’s been a while and, all of the sudden, it got worse."

The Los Angels Dodgers have a commanding control of the NL West, with a 7.5 game lead over the second place Arizona Diamondbacks. It doesn’t seem as though Either’s absence, however long it may be, will affect the team so dramatically that they fall out of first. But anything can happen; I guess we will just have to wait and find out.
