Robert Griffin III is the center of a piece for GQ Magazine this week. In the piece RG3 expressed his displeasure with the Rob Parker situation. He said he was unhappy with what Parker said but that he didn’t want him to lose his job.

RG3 wasn’t the only one expressing displeasure in the article. RG3’s father spoke carefully and cautiously about his displeasure with Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan’s offense. Mainly, that running RG3 a lot puts his health and long-term career in jeopardy.

“I will not tell Coach Shanahan how to do any part of his job because he’s been doing this for a long time,” RGII says, via NFL.com.

“You tell a kid that you want him to be there for fourteen years, guess what? Historical data will tell you that the more he runs, the more subject he is to career injury. You name one quarterback out there that would rather run the football than throw the football and I’ll show you a loser.”

That is something to be worried about, especially when you consider it’s a father talking about his son’s health and career. RG3 can learn to slide and avoid hits while running to try and lessen the risk, but freak things happen.
