New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez’s attorney, Joe Tacopina went on the Today Show with Matt Lauer to discuss his client’s suspension and Alex’s allegations as the segment is titled.

Lauer opens the interview with “do you have the credibility, as we’ve just heard, to make these claims?”

“I think so,” Tacopina confidently starts off his response. “If the vice president of Major League Baseball would be good enough to waive the confidentially clause I’d love nothing more than to talk about Alex Rodriguez’s testing history and various things.”

“I would love nothing more.”

Funny thing….

Major League Baseball sent Lauer a letter saying that if Tacopina wanted to talk about it he could sign this document freeing up both sides to openly discuss Alex Rodriguez’s history.

Whoops. Lauer is salivating at this point.

“Joe, that office sent us a letter over night saying they’re willing to do exactly that,” Lauer says in response. “They sent me a letter saying that if you’ll sign this letter, they are willing to waive the confidentiality clause in the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. That they’ll be allowed to talk about everything and you’ll be allowed to talk about everything.”

Lauer reading from the letter says that includes “all prior violations to the program committed by Rodriguez, all documents, records, communications, text messages and instant messages relating to Rodriguez’s treatment by Anthony Bosch.”

So you got what you wanted, now let the MLB have it Mr. Tacopina.

“They would love nothing more than for us to be able to not hide behind this anonymous source doctrine which they’ve been doing,” Tacopina says after stating they’ve been working on getting that for 3 to 4 weeks.
