Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy treated the upcoming preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks like a regular season game, with the final practice coming two days before kickoff on Friday. He didn’t like how his team handled the session.

McCarthy told Rob Demovsky of ESPN that one of the challenges the team faced is communication, which is vital against a very talented team like the Seahawks.

"“Today was the final practice to get ready for the Seahawks,” McCarthy said. “We were in shells yesterday for a reason. We were in pads today for a reason. We didn’t take full advantage of the opportunity to get ready to play.”"

Demovsky reports that the anger was “directed at the offense” as defensive coordinator Dom Capers didn’t share McCarthy’s anger on that side of the ball.

Perhaps the team missed a beat with Aaron Rodgers sitting out of practice a day ago with a head cold. He returned to practice with the team and told reporters that he was fine.

Interestingly, the Packers did practice their Hail Mary plays on the offensive end. Maybe they’d like a shot at revenge after the infamous “Fail Mary” play happened against them with the Seahawks last season.
