It had looked like Matt Flynn was pulling away with the Oakland Raiders starting job, but the momentum started to shift on Friday night when the team took the field for their third preseason game against the Chicago Bears.

During the game, Terrelle Pryor was able to outplay Flynn and show some real flashes of brilliance. It also helps that Flynn looked pitiful during his reps.

As a result, head coach Dennis Allen has stated that the starting quarterback competition is still wide open.

“I think obviously we have to look at it,” Allen said. “I think when you look at it I don’t think Matt played well in this game. Obviously, I thought Terrelle came in and gave us a spark. I thought he played well in the game. I think that’s something that we have to go and look at it. I’m not going to make any decisions on anything, obviously, tonight.

“I want to get a chance to go back and look at the tape and see how things went. But it was obvious that Terrelle gave us a little bit of a spark tonight.”

Pryor was 7-of-9 for 93 yards and a touchdown. He also showed off his legs and tacked on a 25-yard touchdown run to his statline. It is going to be very interesting to see if he can come away with the job.
