NFL teams have to trim their rosters down to the final 53 men ahead of this evening’s deadline. The Baltimore Ravens have released 3 players ahead of the deadline.

Players released today:

  • tight end Matt Furstenburg
  • offensive tackle J.J. Unga
  • defensive lineman Cody Larson
  • safety Omar Brown
  • running back Bobby Rainey
  • wide receiver Tandon Doss
  • tight end Billy Bajema

Tight end Matt Furstenburg might be the most interesting move. He is a quality “move” tight end prospect and could be re-signed by the Ravens to their practice squad. The Ravens signing Dallas Clark effectively squeezed him out, but knowing their struggles with health at the position this season they might want to keep him around just in case.
