The Miami Heat are the best team in the NBA right now. As great as they are, the rest of the South East division isn’t that good. The Wizards and Hawks are decent. The Magic and Bobcats are probably looking at another lottery year. There’s bare much resistance for the Heat to win the division.

Considering that they face each team in the division four times each, that’s 16 games. You know they’ll probably lose a few so let’s take that down to 13. I’m saying the Heat will go 13-3 against their division this next season. Normally, each division has two teams at least who have a shot at the divisional crown. And there are clear winners as well. But, let’s look at the other divisions.

Atlantic division has the Knicks and Nets. Pacific has the Clippers and Warriors. South West has the Spurs, Grizzlies, and Rockets. North West has the Thunder…oh, actually, the Thunder might be alone in their battle too although the Timberwolves could put up a fight. Central has the Bulls and Pacers. So, as you can see, each division has a battle in store. Not the Heat.

That’s a combination of how great the Heat are but also how bad the other teams will be. Like I said, Bobcats and Magic are out of the playoff run. Hawks took steps back so I think playoffs is a question for them too. I said in an earlier post that perhaps the Wizards would make the playoffs, but would be as high as the sixth seed. We’ll see though.

So, do you think the Heat have it easy? Or is there a team that truly can battle the Heat for at least a season series supremacy? Lots of times, great teams can struggle against that one team, and sometimes that team isn’t even that good. All about match-ups, baby!
