In the 2013 playoffs, it seemed like it was a lock for the Thunder to have a rematch with the Heat. But then Russell Westbrook went down with the injury and the Thunder were gone in the second round. We know they will be back, and better than ever. The hunger is strong. And it’s probably championship or bust for this upcoming season.

Kevin Durant and Westbrook can no longer use inexperience as an excuse (not that they were), as they’ve been in the league for several years now. They are entering the prime years where winning means most.

They still have a young roster with plenty of room for improvement. I think finding that 3rd scorer is key. I don’t feel too good on relying on just Westbrook and Durant, as great as they are. It doesn’t seem like anybody on the current roster has the scoring punch to come in like James Harden and keep things afloat for a few minutes at a time.

We’ll see. The Thunder have plenty of good years ahead of them but a rematch with the Heat is what I would like to see. And I think the Heat have just another good 1-2 years before it might be time for a shake-up of the big three. Wade’s knees and Bosh’s inconsistencies come to mind.

Do you think the Thunder will win the West? Finals?
