Maybe J.R. Smith should be quiet

So J.R. Smith has been doing a lot of talking lately, huh? This time, he is 100% sure that the Knicks will win the NBA championship this season.

Any time a player makes a bold statement like that, everybody hears about it and will watch you closely now. This includes other players. I bet even a couple of his team mates are shaking their heads. The Knicks are good. But can they win it all? I have doubts. Lots of doubts.

Smith wants the team to perform like they did in the “first 20 games” of last season. Hey, pal, that’s not happening. A lot of their game relies on 3-point shooting. And, you live and die by that shot. They lived on it for a while, and then they died. Carmelo Anthony taking all the shots did them in too.

Defensively, I think they’re okay. Tyson Chandler is going to have to play. The injuries have to stop. If that means sitting him down during the regular season so he’s fresh for the playoffs, then so be it. Home court advantage is important too though so we’ll see what they’ll go for.

I think the Heat and Pacers are bound for a rematch in the conference finals. And don’t forget that D-Rose believe he’s the best player in the NBA. You know he’s gonna come back on the court fired up. Knicks may win it all but for Smith to say he’s 100% sure is just…eh. He can keep his thoughts to himself.

You agree with Smith? Or are the Knicks doomed for another second round exit?
