New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski returned to full practice on Sunday afternoon and now he remains on track for a return to the team within the first two months of the season. The Patriots made the decision to carry Gronkowski on their active 53-man roster rather than place him on the physically-unable to perform list which would have kept him out of action for the first six weeks of the season and it looks like the move will pay off.

According to ESPN Boston,  the “sweet spot” for Gronkowski to return to game action will come in weeks three through seven.

Considering his recovery and the participation in practice, it looks like his return could come much closer to the beginning of that time frame, which will be huge for the Patriots.

New England is without many of their top receiving options from a season ago, so Gronkowski’s return will be something that they have been waiting for.
