Even after Terrelle Pryor plays poorly in the final exhibition game against the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday, the Oakland Raiders will stick with him for their season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the newspaper has learned of the official announcement by a couple of sources.

Indeed, it’s not really a surprise. Pryor has looked better than Matt Flynn overall during the preseason and took snaps with the first team in practice on Monday.

Pryor completed just three of eight passes for 31 yards against the Seahawks, equaling zero touchdowns and one interception. But it was against the Seahawks, who have made everybody look bad in the preseason.

Pryor makes more sense for a team that’s completely rebuilding. Plus, Flynn is still recovering from elbow tendinitis, and even though he’s expected to be completely ready for the season opener, there still could be lingering effects.

Worse case scenario, it’s not that hard to throw Flynn in there. But Pryor makes sense right now with an offensive line that would make any quarterback run for their life.
