The Santonio Holmes saga has been one of the many drama-filled storylines surrounding the New York Jets throughout offseason workouts and the preseason, but it looks like that could all come to an end on Week One of the regular season when the Jets open up their season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Holmes has been quiet about whether or not he will play in the season-opener, but it appears that his teammates feel he can play in the game and help them put up some points.

Fellow wide receiver Stephen Hill was among the Jets players that counts on Holmes being ready for the start of the regular season.

I think so,” Hill said, via the New York Daily News. “Yeah I mean, he was practicing today, so…”

Head coach Rex Ryan didn’t say much about the injuries to any of his players — saying that those would be addressed on Wednesday — so we will have to sit back and wait at least another day to find out if one of the Jets most talented offensive players will be dressed for the Week One match up.
