Jacksonville Jaguars running back Justin Forsett said he is not 100% but will be available for Sunday’s season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. Forsett has been battling a turf toe injury all summer.

The Jaguars have a plethora of running backs available like starter Maurice Jones-Drew, Jordan Todman and offensive weapon Denard Robinson. With the depth at running back it’s hard to envision the Jaguars playing him if he is less than 100 percent. Why risk re-aggravating the toe injury?

The second week could be more realistic. He returned to practice on Monday, September 2nd.

When healthy the Jaguars seem to have him penciled in at the back up running back position behind Maurice Jones-Drew. Forsett spent last season backing up Arian Foster of the Houston Texans. He carried the ball 63 times for 374 yards and 1 touchdown. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry as well, a career high.
