Today, they worked out free agents Michael Robinson and John Conner. Robinson was a Pro Bowler with the Seattle Seahawks, while Conner was a star on the recent Hard Knocks series, as he flourished throughout the preseason, but his emotional release was well-documented on the season-finale.

But Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean said the team wasn’t immediately intending to sign one of them. Playing a guy who has not practiced with the team would be tough. And vested veterans on the team in Week 1 are assured of their full base salary no matter if they are with the team all season.

Look for them to bring someone in next week if the think Johnson isn’t the best option right now.
