It took less than one second for the Pittsburgh Steelers to get on the scoreboard thanks to a bone-headed mistake by Tennessee Titans return man Darius Reynaud, but a few minutes later the team suffered a big loss that will devastate their offensive line if it is as serious as it appears to be.

Less than five minutes in to the game, Steelers Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey was hit from behind by his own teammate — guard David DeCastro — and he was forced to be carted off the field after being unable to put any weight on his leg.

During the second quarter of the broadcast on CBS, it was learned that Pouncey has been taken to the hospital for further testing.

It is too early to see exactly how serious the injury may be, but it didn’t look good and the follow up news gives fans and the team very little to be optimistic about.

We will continue to update you on the latest news surrounding Pouncey’s leg injury as more information becomes available.
