After a horrific display of violence on the field, a High School Football Player in Pennsylvania may face criminal charges after an in-game brawl.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting that after a play was blown dead on the field, Hamburg High quarterback Joey Cominsky ripped the helmet off of Annville-Cleona lineman Josh Hartmann.

Unfortunately, the story didn’t end there.

Once the helmet was off, Cominsky proceeded to use the helmet to beat Hartmann. One of those hits caught Hartmann square in the middle of the head.

The entire incident was caught on video, and is now being reviewed by police with the potential of upcoming charges against the Hamburg teenager.

Cominsky was ejected from the game after the incident.

Also thrown out of the game was Annville-Cleona player Taylor Prentice, who jumped into the brawl in an attempt to prevent Cominsky from further beating his teammate.

Despite a valiant attempt by Annville-Cleona, especially after the ejection of Cominsky, Hamburg was able to hold on to a 25-22 victory.

According to an interview with PennLive, Annville-Cleona coach Terry Lehman said that his team was able to make the best of this terrible situation.

"“Our kids really made a positive out of a very horrible negative. They really hung in there, came back and played as a team.”"

Thankfully, Josh Hartmann did not sustain any serious injury in the beating. He did sustain a laceration on his head that required him to miss some game time, but after being evaluated it was determined that he did not sustain a concussion or any other serious injury as a result of the helmet bashing.
