New York Jets offensive lineman Nick Mangold delivered an obvious cheap shot to New England Patriots defensive back Aqib Talib during the team’s loss on Thursday night, which resulted in a fight that led to the ejections of fellow offensive linemen D’Brickashaw Ferguson and Willie Colon.
Mangold dove at Talib’s knees and cut him and the hit is now having people discuss whether or not the Jets lineman should be suspended.

Personally, I think a suspension needs to be handed down.
There is no place in the game for hits like this and players have continuously gotten away with them. The NFL protects players from high hits, but the low hits could be potential career enders and the league has done nothing to stop them.
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was fined $100,000, but that isn’t enough.
The league can set a great example that these types of hits won’t be tolerated by suspending Mangold, so let’s hope that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell steps up to the plate.
