Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is battling a left hip flexor strain that could keep him out of action for a few weeks, so the Ravens are expected to start back up Bernard Pierce on Sunday when they take on the Houston Texans.

The move will end Rice’s consecutive regular-season starts streak, which currently sits at 43.

From Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun:

It really comes as no surprise that Rice is missing the game, considering he has yet to suit up for practice once this week.

Pierce has received 28 carries throughout the first two weeks of the season and totaled 79 yards and a touchdown.

It’s going to be a tough task for the Ravens this weekend when they face one of the best teams in the AFC, especially with Pierce leading the way in the rushing game.
