It goes without saying that fans of the Chicago Bulls are anxiously awaiting the return of superstar point guard Derrick Rose. Having missed the entire 2012-13 season following a knee surgery, Rose told reporters on Sunday that he’s feeling healthy and is itching to finally get back out on the basketball court with his teammates.

Said Rose:

"I’m feeling good. Right now my legs are good. I’m just trying to stay positive and just keep my emotions from exploding knowing that the season is right around the corner (ESPN)."

Rose also talked about the criticism he received after he elected not to participate in Chicago’s playoff run despite being cleared to do so by team doctors. He said the criticism didn’t at all faze him and that such comments from outsiders would only bother “weak-minded” players. Rose went on to say that while it may take him a few games to regain his playing rhythm, one thing that should be instantly noticeable is his increased confidence: “I think the only thing that changed in my game is the confidence. My confidence grew as a player and you’ll see that when I play.”

The Chicago Bulls will open the 2013-14 regular season by taking on the Miami Heat on October 29th.
