The New York Giants learned that starting fullback Henry Hynoski suffered a broken shoulder that will likely keep him out for the remainder of the season, so the team has gone to free agency in order to find his replacement.

Who have the Giants gone out and added? None other than “The Terminator,” John Conner, who had his release from the Cincinnati Bengals documented on this year’s season of HBO’s Hard Knocks.

For New York, adding Conner is a move that they hope will provide a boost for their putrid running game, which has been a big contributor to their disappointing 0-3 start.

Conner isn’t much of a threat as a rusher or a receiver out of the backfield, but that’s not what he is asked to do. Conner is a hard-nosed run-blocking specialist that will pave the way for whoever is carry the rock and he has shown that he’s not afraid to lay the lumber and put his body on a defender.

If the New York Giants can get their running game jump started by Conner, then they will be thrilled to make this kind of a move less than one week in to the start of the new season.
