This post may contain some spoilers, so if you haven’t checked out the first season, you might as well ignore this article and move on.

Anyways, Norman and Norma are set to re-open the motel sometime next year and I have to say, I can’t wait! Last season started off a bit slow, but took a different approach to what the typical “Psycho” movies did.

It slowly began to build, which lead to the season finale we seen last season. If you’re not sure what this is about, it’s a prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s film and Robert Bloch’s novel ‘Psycho’. It involves Norman’s brother half brother and son of Norma, Dylan Massett who is played by Max Thieriot who got himself tied up into a little bit of trouble alongside his brother and mother.

There is a rumor that Michael O’Neill who played the shooter who walked the halls of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and opened fired on their staff will be joining their cast. Also rumored to join the cast is Kathleen Robertson who appeared in the original ‘90210’.

Michael is supposed to pick up a recurring role as ‘Nick’ who happens to have history with a victim from season one. Not going to give up too much on him, but he’s going to be playing another “looking for revenge/justice” roles with this show.

Kathleen will be playing a character who will go by ‘Jodi’. She supposed to be a character full of mystery, but could end up getting tied in with the Bates family.

The chemistry between the characters of Norma and Norman are spot on. It’s a brilliant television show and I was pretty excited to hear about it before season one aired. I sorta forgot it was on so I missed the first couple of episodes but quickly caught up and got hooked.

It’s one of those shows that will get you on the edge of your seat, almost screaming at the television for someone to not go into a certain room or make a certain decision that could change something in the story.

The writers and producers of this show have something great in the works and should continue to pump out more scripts, resulting in season renewal after season renewal until we reach that infamous “Psycho” stage that we seen in the movies.

The show will also introduce Norma’s brother Caleb to the series.

Season one of Bates Motel was released on Blu Ray and DVD on September 17th.
