San Francisco 49ers defensive superstar Patrick Willis seems to be improving enough with his recovery to be out on the field for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. At this point, Willis has just been participating in limited practices.

Willis suffered a groin injury during San Francisco’s tough loss to Indianapolis week 3. Due to the injury, Willis was forced to miss last Thursday’s game against St. Louis.

Along with Willis, there are also other 49ers that have been dealing with lingering injuries. Corner back Nnamdi Asomugha missed last week’s game with a knee injury, but it wasn’t as detrimental to the team as many thought. Although the injury is still not good, Asomugha was replaced by Tremaine Brock, who actually played pretty well. Having Asomugha miss another game might not be such a bad move for San Francisco, as it will allow for him to fully heal his knee.

The veteran tight end Vernon Davis did play last week despite suffering a hamstring injury week 3. The injury doesn’t look to be too bad down the stretch, and all signs are pointing to Davis suiting up for Week 5.

The 2-2 49ers will face a tough 2-2 Texans team who lost a tough battle to Seattle in OT. San Francisco will need as many healthy bodies on the field as possible, because nothing is guaranteed this week.
