The Oakland Raiders are bringing David Carr to the Northern California for a work out and physical. The Oakland Raiders demoted quarterback Matt Flynn to third string and are looking for a reliable back up quarterback.

“Listen, it is what it is,” Allen said. “It hasn’t worked out like we anticipated and we’ve got to make decisions and we’ve got to move forward and continue to go, and [Flynn is] going to continue to battle and scratch and claw, and I still believe that he’s a capable quarterback. But we’re going to give [Matt] McGloin a chance.”

The must not be too committed to giving him a chance if they’re flirting with Carr and reportedly Josh Freeman as well.

David Carr had been with the New York Giants but was released on Saturday August 31st, the day NFL teams have to make the final cuts to trim teams down to 53 men.

The Raiders aren’t the only team interested in David Carr either. The Tennessee Titans were considering bringing in Carr after Jake Locker went down and he reportedly worked out for the Titans on Tuesday.
