Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left Sunday’s game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury and Nick Foles came in to finish out the game. Vick wasn’t having a particularly stellar passing game when he left, but he was hurting the Giants on the ground with his feet.

The Eagles were winning 19-7 at the half, the Giants took the lead in the third quarter before Foles led the Eagles down to score and reclaim the lead.

Foles elevated the Eagles passing game. He completed 16 of 25 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns.

“Mike was hurt, it was my job to go in there and get a win,” said Foles, via ESPN.

Foles even got some praise from his wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

“What you saw with Foles making the good decisions and plays, I was very impressed with what he came in and did. He threw some great balls, made some great plays.”

The Eagles will take on the Buccaneers next, another win-less team. Their pass defense is pretty decent statistically, has Darrelle Revis at corner and Dashon Goldson patrolling the middle of the field, and could present a challenge to Foles.
