After last season and the quarterback carousel this training camp, some had lowered their expectations for the New York Jets this season. It seemed like Mark Sanchez would keep the starting job before being injured and handing the job to rookie Geno Smith. The Jets are off to a 3-2 start, have never had a losing record at any point during this season and have the potential to go to 4-2 this week.

Aside from a win moving them to 4-2 it’d be the first time they have won back-to-back games this season. The only thing standing in the way is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are still looking for their first win of the season.

“I got a memo from the league, and they said we can win two games in a row,” head coach Rex Ryan told reporters this week. “I think that’s going to be what I talk to our team about.”

The momentum could help them as they head in to a rough stretch before their bye week. They host the Patriots, then travel to Cincinnati and then host the New Orleans Saints.
