The New York Giants can’t seem to catch a break on the injury front. After losing running back David Wilson to a potential season-ending neck injury, they lost Da’Rell Scott during last week’s loss to the Chicago Bears. Scott suffered a hamstring injury that will keep him sidelined for a while, and instead of keeping him on the roster to just take up space, the team reached and injury settlement with him:

With the emergence of Brandon Jacobs last week, he’ll be the primary back going forward, and the Giants will likely opt to sign another free agent in the coming days. There’s not much on the market right now outside of well-known veterans Michael Turner, Cedric Benson, Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower.

They’d probably be better off just picking up a young back off of someone’s practice squad and try to develop him, as this has clearly become a rebuilding year.
