It’s not everyday that players decide to continue to play a sport after they just found out they suffered a broken rib.

I can’t imagine the discomfort Ramirez has been feeling since the injury occurred, but I would imagine it doesn’t feel that great. When I first heard about Ramirez having a broken rib, I had my doubts about him playing and he proved me wrong.

The veteran shortstop did in fact play and actually recorded a hit the morning he found out about his fractured rib. Ramirez recorded two hits and an RBI in a 3-0 win against the Cardinals the very same day, which is very impressive.

This guy has completely changed ever since getting his fresh start in Los Angeles. I remember a bratty Ramirez while he was with the Florida/Miami Marlins, but that side of him seems to be long gone. At least for right now.

Now following his 0-3 performance in Game 4’s loss against the Cardinals, Hanley Ramirez does plan on being in the starting lineup for the Dodgers in Game 5.

"“Tomorrow, I’m going to come back and I expect to see my name in the lineup. But it’s going to be hard. I’m going to try to play tomorrow. I’m going to go back to my house and get some rest and be ready to go tomorrow.” Hanley Ramirez told Dodgers.com."

This game is a must win for Ramirez and this Los Angeles Dodgers team as they trail the Cardinals 3-1 in the series.
