New York Giants Sign RB Peyton Hillis

Reports from Fox are saying that the New York Giants have signed running back Peyton Hillis and will add him to the mix.  They made room for him with the cutting of Da’Rel Scott.  Hillis is a bigger back who can use power and some quickness to make opponents miss, but since his one big year with the Cleveland Browns which helped him land on the cover of Madden for that year, his production has dropped off precipitously.  After being unable to come to an agreement to stay in Cleveland, Hillis was underwhelming for the Chiefs and had a brief stay in Tampa.  Now, he is getting what appears to be his last shot with the Giants, who are looking for any life from the running game.

David Wilson has a ton of talent but has had problems holding onto the football.  For Tom Coughlin, this is pretty much the worst thing anyone can do and if not for a lack of any other options, Wilson would have been banished to the bench.  Coughlin was so limited due to injuries and losses such as Ahmad Bradshaw going to the Colts in free agency, he has had to keep trying him.  They have also gone to bringing in Brandon Jacobs for another stint and now are turning to Hillis in hopes of finding a spark.  The Giants host the Minnesota Vikings this week on Monday Night Football.
