Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He is recovering from a quad injury he suffered against the Washington Redskins last week. The injury will cause Ware to miss the first game of his career this week.

In 2009 he was carried off the field with a neck injury and returned to play the following week against the New Orleans Saints. It was an incredibly big game that the Cowboys ended up winning.

Ware was given a 3-4 week time table for his injury, but Ware said he expected it to be more like 1-2 weeks. According to ESPN “there is an expectation that Ware could play next week against the Detroit Lions.”

“I’m not going to be out three or four weeks,” Ware said, earlier in the week according to ESPN. “I don’t know where that came from. Somebody said it. I know my recovery is pretty fast, and I’m feeling pretty good today.”

“I know that I can get through injuries,” Ware said last week ahead of the Eagles game. “You can never sway what [injury] is worse than the other. Each week, like I took with that injury, take that whole week and make a game-day decision.”
